The description of the key points to design an inductor is fantastic, at school, I would have appreciated to have teachers as clear as you.
I would like to add one point about the cost of a custom design. Price will not be competitive in comparison with a catalog one in 2 situations:
+ Needed qty is low ;
+ Technical constraints (losses, footprint, TΒ°,...) are not critical.
