👋 Hello, friends! Dr. Molina here 👨🔧
Welcome to Dr.Molina Newsletter, where I break down Magnetic design for you every week, in
4 minutesthe time needed.
I remember the first time I went to a conference on Power Electronics. It was in Spain, 2011, Saaei and I were excited and very honored to be part of that event. A few months later, I went to APEC, and it was amazing. To be honest, I didn´t understand some of the presentations I went to, but that really motivated me to continue learning. I spent the whole flight back home studying the articles.
In 2013, I participated in the organization of the Saaei in Madrid, helping Oscar Garcia in the organization.
After 2012, I attended every APEC and some PCIM and Electronica conferences, and I’m a huge fan of organizing face-to-face events in the Power Electronics community. These events are quite general; however, there are a lot of specific conferences about Control, Semiconductors… but no independent conference is dedicated exclusively to Magnetics.
I feel part of the community from two angles:
Business: I’m the CEO of a company in this industry
Scientific: I want to witness new technologies for energy management
And I thought I wanted to participate in the progression of High-Frequency Magnetics and Power Electronics, but the only way to really create value is by building something unique, independent of Frenetic.
I said…let’s create something big….and here we are…
So, I am pleased to present you the conference…
Magnetics & Madrid will be a conference on High-Frequency Magnetics that will take place in Madrid, Spain. My goal is to bring the best Professionals from Academia or Industry to have great discussions about how to design Better Magnetics. I already have some confirmations of great speakers.
We just started working on the Organization so I will share more details soon.
But…there is something I want to ask you…
What speakers would you like to see at Mag&Mad?
Looking forward to your proposals!
Another interesting topic that kind of leaves pure magnetics space is circuit non idealities that circumvent magnet design intent and outcomes, even if the solve another problem.
Ex: input filter caps that allow HF bypass around a common mode choke, and common mode current leakages.
