Christmas holidays are almost here, and we need to rest a little bit and spend time with family and friends, but just before that, the last shot!
We used to simplify things as much as possible. We think our work is a place (physical or virtual) where you spend 8 hours a day doing X and receiving some money. When you change your job, there is only a line left in your Linkedin (Power Electronics Engineer at XYZ 2018-2022).
We forget that being in a job means having human relations with others, and the result of these relations is memories. If you have online relations, the connection with your colleagues won´t be as strong as the connections that appear toasting a beer.
However, we live in a hybrid world (especially at Frenetic), with some developers or business people working remotely. Then, what we do to solve that problem is do physical events 4-5 days a year.
Yesterday, we had our Christmas party at Frenetic, people came to the office for several days, and we had a lot of face-to-face meetings. We finally have the opportunity to look at the eyes of the people and understand what matters to them. We worked in person, went to have lunch, and finally went to Karaoke.
At you know what? The emotions and the feelings that appeared between the team have been incredible. The people were thrilled to see each other in person, and they laughed, danced, and talked with tremendous energy.
During the day, three people came to me, and they told me.
“Thank you Chema for creating this company, I’m very happy to be here, I’m working hard but I’m having a lot of fun” - Frenetic employee
And the day after, We received this email from our CFO.
And this is the kind of thing that can´t be simplified in a single line in the CV.
These days will be in my memories because how many times will I be in a more challenging and motivating position?
Next Tuesday, the 20th of December, we will be debating about Inductor Designs for Buck and LLC converters and Frenetic Online. I will be delighted to spend one hour with you to finish the Magnetic Year.
