π Hello friends! Dr. Molina here π¨βπ§
Welcome to Dr.Molina Newsletter, where I break down Magnetic designs for you every week, in 4 minutes.Β Join our community of more than 1070 curious engineers creating Super Powers!

To be honest, I would love to spend the whole edition talking about my baby. Itβs amazing to see how humans create life and how a baby, itβs in potential an adult but right now, we arenΒ΄t able to see it. We just see a baby. A lovely baby π.
The doctor told me, she is too young for producing emotional smiles. I donΒ΄t want to believe him. My baby smiles at her dad π€.
Every mom and dad reading this will understand how I feel.
These are the topics of this week:
How to be a Creative Engineer
The Nobel Prize in Physics 2022
Vishay published a Transformer for LLC
π¦Έπ»ββοΈπ¦ΈπΌββοΈ How to be a Creative Engineer
I have had interviews with more than 1000 engineers in the past two years, trying to understand how they address their work related to power electronics and magnetics.
And I have found that electrical engineers with huge egos and limited minds, donΒ΄t get promoted versus those with open minds who use to get promoted.
When you are young, you have to take advantage of your unconscious, itβs your main advantage against experienced people, who are biased by all the solutions they have found in their life.
Ridley will never use Artificial Intelligence for designing magnetics because he has an excel file, which he has been working in during 30 years.
But building Original Thoughts isnΒ΄t easy. You need time. For example, I use to spend more than 20 hours thinking about a New Experiment for a Magnetic or a Newsletter, before starting to implement something. Once I start, Iβm aware, the first thing Iβm going to do is itβs not going to work. Itβs part of the process.
Julian Shapiro describes it very well here. He visualizes creativity as a backed-up pipe of water. The first mile is packed with wastewater, and this wastewater has to be emptied before the clear water behind it can arrive.
My advice for an electronic engineer is to explore, fail and use a creative process to find solutions to your problems. Try to use everything that can help you in the process, hack your mind.

The Nobel Prize in Physics 2022
A few days ago, The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences decided to award the Nobel Prize in Physics 2022 to Alain Aspect (France), John F. Clauser (USA), and Anton Zeilinger (Austria) for
experiments with entangled photons, establishing the violation of Bell inequalities and pioneering quantum information science
Basically, they have demonstrated that, When two particles, such as a pair of photons or electrons, become entangled, they remain connected even when separated by vast distances.
in 1905 Einstein presented doubts about the quantum theory because of its relation with his Special Relative Theory, where he said, the interaction between two particles doesnΒ΄t occur instantaneously, itβs limited by the speed of light.
However, with their experiments (a long time ago, they started in 1969), they have demonstrated the theory which is used nowadays in quantum computers (the most famous one is IBM)
Here you have a video from Caltech explaining this theory.
π£ Frenetic New Dashboard
Iβm sorry, my other baby (Frenetic) is moving very fast in its growth (Itβs a teenager already) and we have a new release with a lot of great things.
A non-technical but very cool one is the new Dashboard with a News section, where we publish private news from manufacturers, academia, info about new features at Freneticβ¦
This is what users said about Frenetic Online.
βBest magnetics design platform available today and constantly getting betterβ β Bob White - President And Chief Engineer -Embedded Power Labs.
βI value especially the freedom to model many different inductors before selecting a single one. The "Suggest Wire" feature - it truly is great!β-
Don Lucas β Senior Power Electronics Engineer at Lucas Consulting Services.
π Vishay published a Transformer for LLC
The company Vishay published a new component, a Transformer with a considerable inductance to be used as a resonant (or for ZVS). Iβm really happy to finally see companies proposing their solutions for magnetics.
As a minor comment, I would love to simulate this component before buying it to see how it works.
If the Product Manager of this component is reading this. I can help you for free.
Iβm sure the industry will love to have a simulation model of this component. If any reader has a magnetic component and you want to promote it, I will build the model and share it in our News section. Just answer this email, Iβm on the other side π€.
See you next week! Remember to help me, by sharing this Newsletter or inviting friends!
