#12 π Why do electrical engineers want to go to work at SpaceX, Apple, or Samsung?
Creating Super Electrical Engineers
π Hello! Dr. Molina here! π¨βπ§
π€ Thank you for reading and welcome to the show my Newsletter. Iβm Chema Molina, Founder, and CEO at Frenetic, where we train and create Great Magnetic Engineersπ.
This is an experiment.
This is the first edition where Iβm separating the reflections part from the technical part.
I use to help Engineers and Managers to make better decisions about Power Electronics. Look at these people:
Javier Uceda (UPMβs Dean),
Γscar GarcΓa (Engineering university ETSII director)
and Teresa Riesgo (Secretary-General for Innovation at Ministry of Science and Innovation of Spain)
They have been my mentors during my Ph.D. and I have learned a lot about R&D in Power Electronics. I would like to share with you everything I have learned from them.
Investing in your Competitor
Every day you are not investing in training your team, you are investing in your competitor.
I know you have very good excuses.
I know what your day looks like:
You work on a project, and this project is the most important thing in your day by day.
You are worried about your deadlines and itβs not the right moment for improving the capabilities of your Power Electronics team.
You like the idea of investing in technology, then, you tell yourself:
- We will do a training after this project.
The project never ends, and suddenly your boss sends you an email:
- Great News!! We have won another big Project!! Kick off meeting in 2 weeks!
Assume it, the amount of work and problems, only increase (second law of thermodynamics).
Then, what can we do?
You have to train your team continuously and prepare your team with the weapons of our time. If you go to war today with weapons of the Vietnam war, you will last 5 minutes.
This is what is happening to your team when you donΒ΄t give them the last weapons and training.
Why do engineers want to go to work at SpaceX, Apple, or Samsung?
Because their products are so exciting and because they invest millions in weapons (Software, training, and time).
If your engineers are using their individual spreadsheets to design their circuits, I can ensure you, your competitor is using the last software technology, Artificial Intelligence, and hiring the best consultants in the world to defeat you in 2 years.
I have spent the last 5 years talking with Apple, Tesla, or Mercedes Formula 1 to understand what they will need to defeat their competitors.
They need support in High-Frequency Magnetics.
But doing a 2 days training or 3 months collaboration is not enough.
I help Power Electronics teams in having better magnetics. I have software and a team of experts. I have 1 hour of meeting/training with them every week plus the time they spent in our software.
My minimum collaboration time is 1 year. If we want to succeed, we need time.
The price of our service is like the entropy, it only increasing because our A.I. software and our team are better every month.
The sooner you are IN, the better magnetics you will have.
Thank you again for reading and donΒ΄t forget to subscribe.
Sincerely,
Chema π
